Explore Culture One World Festival

The Explore Culture: One World Festival will celebrate and bring together everything that is good about culture in Essex, its people, its diversity and traditions.

Essex is a multicultural county and the festival will show how migration has influenced culture over the years.

One World is a celebration of culture in its broadest sense. Through the Arts - film, music and dance, reading groups, parties in the park etc and Heritage - cultural festivals, landscape, history, food etc we will look at who we all are and where we come from and what route we took to get here.

What does Essex culture mean to you?

Culture is doing it or watching it and is all about you. It's about where come from and where you are now. Do you knit? Or paint? Do you play the guitar? Or watch opera? Do you sing in the bath? Or play a steel drum? Are you a Morris dancer? Is Kathak or disco more your thing?

What is special and surprises you about Essex?

All sorts of events will take place in venues across the whole of Essex. Venues such as theatres, libraries, church halls, community centres, the streets, cinemas and village halls

INVITATION - we realise there is loads more going on in Essex than has come to our attention. If you have a cultural event that is peculiarly Essex, or which links different cultures, please email Belinda.farrell@essex.gov.uk
