2010 dates for Essex Art & Design Show announced

This  event will be taking place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th September 2010 at the unique and historical setting of Cressing Temple Barns, Braintree Essex.

This is the 6th successful year of the Essex Art show and its third year at Cressing Temple. This year's event will once again include  the Jewellery Quarter: a barn dedicated to contemporary handmade jewellery.

This exciting event in the Essex arts calendar gives over 70 artists and designers the opportunity to showcase and sell their own work.  The wide range of exhibitors will include fine art, photography, ceramics, jewellery, textiles and many other contemporary crafts.  For the public it is the ideal opportunity to buy a piece of original art or craft and meet the artist who created the work. There will also be demonstrations during the weekend.

The ethos behind the event is to provide a showcase for high quality art & design from both established artists and new emerging talent. With this in mind there will be an exhibition of work by a group of students from the Colchester School of Art & Design; this talented group of individuals are about to enter the third year of their BA(Hons) Art & Design Degree, specialising in three dimensional design and craft - the exceptional high calibre of their work speaks for itself, but there is no doubt that these will be artists to watch in the future.    

The Show is included as part of Essex County Council's Essex Summer of Art initiative. The Essex Art & Design show is included in the 2010 Summer of Art brochure which has a 35,000 County wide distribution backed up by extensive press and radio coverage.
